PB/C: Spires: Pteraphon

An early Biomantic design, the pteraphon was developed as a dragon-killer, only to be rendered obsolete once the Elder Dragons revealed themselves. Loathe to waste good work and resources, the Directorate reduced the design’s bulk and crippled its nervous system, repurposing it to a symbiotic „suit“. The added neural burden requires unsafe levels of synaptic enhancers which almost invariably leave their unfortunate pilot hosts as wretched, addicted souls – a good price to pay for the power of flight and the deadliness of a Dragon-Killer.
